Drake's Estero

At its July 14 meeting, the Marin County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 in favor of submitting a letter in support of Senator Dianne Feinstein's rider to an Interior Department appropriations bill that would allow for a ten-year extension of Drake's Bay Oyster Company's lease, set to expire in 2012. MCL, which played a pivotal role in the formation of the Point Reyes National Seashore and believes strongly in the Wilderness Act, is disappointed by this decision (see Nona Dennis' op-ed in the July 30 Marin IJ).
